The Squid Behind the Squid

So at this time, you are probably wondering just why we gave our company such a silly name like "Squid Balm".  Well, we'll tell you exactly why.....

Squid Balm was inspired by and created for one little girl with eczema and a perpetual itch whose nickname happens to be "Squid"!  Yes, we are serious.

Now most skin products are fine for most people, but this little girl could never get any relief.  We soon found out she had developed peanut and tree-nut allergies making products with shea and cocoa butters or nut oils not only irritating but a serious health hazard - as her daddy says, "That's anti-bueno!"

So mama set out to create a moisturizer that would help relieve her itchies, moisturize her skin, control her eczema, be free of chemical preservatives, free from nut allergens, bee-free (just in case) and free of steroids like cortisone.  After much research and trial & error, "Squid Balm" solid lotion bars were born.

Not long after Squid Balm launched, we started playing with other products formulations which are also eco friendly, skin friendly and of course, nut-free.  Keep watching for more goodies.
